My set for Twelfth Night. The idea for this set was that the design would be reminiscent of an Elizabethan theatre but that it was brought into modernity with modern materials. The director wanted her set to be entirely white so that the color would come from lights. She also wanted a traditional constellation painted on the floor, and the initial idea was that there would be a more accurate cosmos projected onto the cyclorama. There were some issues with the execution of this so the lighting instead chose to hang lights from the batons. The initial wall below the stage was to show the structure of frames before time started to distort and pull the world apart, which is why there are frames floating above the set, however the director felt that too much of the acting was being obstructed by the wall and decided to pull the wall from the set, and due to the time constraints this led to the frames being pulled from the fly system as well.
